This project involves building secure voting systems, citizen engagement platforms, data transparency tools, and systems to combat misinformation. About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Technical Project Manager to lead the development and execution of this groundbreaking initiative. You will be a critical link between the technical team, the open-source community, and stakeholders, ensuring the project stays on track, aligns with our mission, and delivers a meaningful impact.

Responsibilities:

• Project Planning & Execution:

  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

  • Define clear project goals, milestones, and success metrics.

  • Oversee the execution of the project, ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards.

  • Employ Agile methodologies to manage the development process, adapting to evolving needs and priorities.

• Technical Leadership:

  • Possess a strong understanding of software development principles, technologies involved (NLP, ML, cloud computing, blockchain), and open-source development practices.

  • Effectively communicate with the technical team, understanding their challenges and providing guidance.

  • Contribute to technical discussions, risk assessments, and solution finding.

  • Stay informed about relevant technological advancements and their potential impact on the project.

• Open Source Facilitation:

  • Champion open-source principles and practices throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Develop and implement strategies for community engagement, including managing contributions, organizing events, and fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant open-source licenses and contribute to the project's governance model.

  • Promote transparency by sharing project updates, documentation, and progress with the open-source community.

• Communication & Collaboration:

  • Foster clear and effective communication channels between the technical team, stakeholders, and the open-source community.

  • Facilitate collaborative decision-making and conflict resolution.

  • Provide regular project updates and reports to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.

• Team Management:

  • Build and motivate a high-performing development team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.

  • Delegate tasks effectively, provide support and mentorship, and address any roadblocks.

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.

Qualifications:

• Proven Experience: 5+ years of experience managing software development projects, with at least 2+ years in a technical project management role.

• Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated understanding of software development lifecycle, Agile methodologies, and relevant technologies (NLP, ML, cloud computing).

• Open Source Expertise: Experience managing or contributing to open-source projects, with familiarity with licensing, community engagement, and governance models.

• Leadership & Communication: Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

• Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

• Passion for Democracy: A genuine interest in using technology to improve democratic processes and civic engagement.

Bonus Points:

• Experience with civic technology projects.

• Background in political science or public policy.
